Angel and the little scroll

Revelation chapter 10. The angel and the little scroll. What got me intrigued on this chapter was how John ate the scroll and the effect it had on him. Sweet in the mouth, sour in the belly. It makes me wonder, how many faces are there to God's word. I asked this because I always associate God's word with it being sweet. With no sour effect.
